Breakfast is a beautiful time of day in Yangon and some of the best food is found streetside in the morning hours. So before the heat of the day picks up, bypass the hotel breakfast and we'll take you to the downtown spots where locals kick start their day with mohinga or soft peas scooped up with freshly baked nan breads. Strolling down historical streets we'll negotiate our way through two very different market places while dropping in at an old-school tea-shop to try locally grown tea and snacks. Take in all the sights and tastes as we tuck into all the must try local dishes surrounding Sule Pagoda, The Secretariat building, beautiful Bogalayzay St. and beyond.

Get your day started the local way and explore the city's stunning neighborhoods brimming with local vendors and fuel yourself for the rest of your day's sightseeing.

Some Tour Highlights

  • Traditional tea shop which stood through decades of military rule and still serving British style teacakes and pastries with a Myanmar twist

  • Mohinga! Many locals can't start the day without it and we know the perfect place

  • Two bustling street markets with all sorts of exotic fruits, veg, fish mongers and butchers plus market snacks to taste along the way. Here we can also show you the raw ingredients that make the dishes we taste on the tour

  • No other country in the world makes salads like Myanmar! Pickled tea leaf with crunchy fried beans and seeds, ginger and nutty tomato salads are among those you simply must try

  • The architecture of St Mary's Cathedral, The Secretariat and the colonial side-streets we stroll along are a feast for the eyes

  • Stop in at a vintage Burmese restaurant filled with antiques, old photos and art work
